Portrait of Dr. John R. Bailey (G.13A.442). Dr. Bailey was Fort Mackinac's post surgeon in 1881, operated a drug store on Mackinac Island, and eventually became a Mackinac Island State Park Commissioner, 1903 - 1910. Dr. Bailey also wrote a book on Mackinac Straits history "Formerly Michilimackinac: A History and Guide Book with Maps".
