When Weddings Can Be Scheduled at Historic Mill Creek

2008 Historic Mill Creek Wedding Guidelines and Procedures

1. This historic site is operated for the public by the Mackinac State Historic Parks.
2. The Overview deck, the Mill Pond Bridge and other approved Historic Mill Creek Sites are available by pre-arrangement for wedding ceremonies. Reservations should be made through Mackinac State Historic Parks by printing the application available at the above link. The application and fee should be mailed to:

3. From May 5 through June 6 and August 24 through October 12, 2008, wedding ceremonies may be scheduled (on a first come/first served basis) to begin between 5:00 p.m. and 7:00 p.m. (Historic Mill Creek closes to the public at 4:00 p.m. on these dates. Guests, florists, musicians, decorators etc. will not be allowed entrance until after closing.)
4. From June 7 through August 24, 2008, wedding ceremonies may be scheduled to begin between the hours of 6:00 p.m. and 7:30 p.m. (Historic Mill Creek closes to the public at 5:00 p.m. on these dates. Persons associated with the wedding will not be allowed entrance until after closing.)  Reservations should be made as soon as possible to avoid disappointment. All ceremonies must be scheduled at least 14 days in advance.
5. If you wish to view the Historic Mill Creek wedding ceremony sites in consideration of your wedding plans, please call MSHP Group Travel Coordinator (phone: 517-373-4289) to arrange a visit time.
6. Mackinac State Historic Parks has no resident or affiliated clergyman. Each couple married at any of the Mackinac State Historic Park wedding venues must select a clergyman or public official to perform the ceremony.
7. If floral arrangements are part of your wedding decor, flowers may arrive no earlier than 30 minutes prior to ceremony time.
8. If you have scheduled musicians, soloist and/or an organist they are to arrive no earlier than 30 minutes prior to ceremony time. If you are working with a wedding planner, ensure that they are aware of this time frame.
9. Fee: 
   Historic Mill Creek wedding site use for MAXIMUM of two hours is $325.00. Payment is required with application. The fee includes up to 2 hours of the same day for decorating, rehearsal (see rehearsal info. below), wedding ceremony, pictures and clean-up.
10. Refund Policy: $175.00 is non-refundable under any circumstances.
    º  Cancellation received in writing 61 days or more prior to reserved date - $200.00 refund.
    º  Cancellation received in writing 31-60 days prior to reserved date - $75.00 refund.
    º  Cancellation 30 days or less prior to reserved date - $0.00.
11. Contact Mackinac State Historic Park Special Event Coordinator to schedule a rehearsal time.
12. Parking for your wedding guests must be in the parking lot of the Historic Mill Creek Visitor's Center.
13. No vehicles will be permitted onto the actual historic site grounds (with exception of parking lot) of Historic Mill Creek, without permission from Special Event Coordinator.
14. It is the responsibility of the wedding party to designate an individual to remove flowers, wedding decorations and other items immediately following the ceremony, otherwise the items will be removed and discarded by park staff one hour after the wedding. We are unable to store any items at Historic Mill Creek before or after the ceremony.
